Street Drugs: The Latest Health Care Crisis

The recent increase in opioid use and the health crisis that has resulted has created much concern in NH and VT. Fatalities are growing in number and the related crime statistics are staggering. The co-occurrence of human trafficking and substance abuse is on the rise. Physicians and nurses in all clinical settings are seeing the effects of overdoses of these drugs, with carfentanil being the newest challenge to health care providers. EMS personnel and police are equally challenged to respond appropriately to this growing epidemic. Join us as we address the current crisis and discuss new knowledge that will be presented by experts from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and ICE - Homeland Security.
