Holistic Nursing Series - Conflict Engagement: A Critical Safety Skill

Are you uncomfortable dealing with conflict? Do you establish “work arounds” rather than address difficult conversations? Please join us for this exciting program taught by the author of Negotiating at an Uneven Table: Developing Moral Courage in Resolving Our Conflicts as we begin to recognize that appropriately addressing conflict is a critical safety skill. Learn to develop stronger skills to comfortably and respectfully address conflict that will lead to improved patient care, reduced turnover, and a happier environment.

The registration fees are as follows:

Preregistration and payment required. The registration deadline is 10 days prior to the activity date. There will be no refunds after that date. A $10 administrative fee for a registration fee of under $50, and a $25 administrative fee for a registration of $50 and over, will be retained on all refunds requested before the registration deadline. At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to more skillfully participate in effective conflict engagement in communication and relationship building.

Learning Objectives
  • Describe conflict engagement competencies as a skill set that can reframe a personal understanding of conflict’s role in personal behaviors and professional relationships.
  • Reconsider personal conflict engagement behaviors and their relationship to achieving both personal and organizational mission and goals.
  • Expand personal awareness of the challenge of competent conflict engagement in a complex setting.
  • Access diverse conflict engagement tools available for personal and professional skill expansion.
Accreditation

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nursing Continuing Education Council is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This educational activity carries 6.25 contact hours.

Receiving Contact Hours

  • Complete the online evaluation - Must be submitted within 30 days after the activity

  • Log onto https://ce.dartmouth-hitchcock.org/login.aspx
  • Click on the My Activities link in the left side menu. Then click on the name of the activity you attended.
  • Click on the Resume button.
  • Click the Continue button until the Evaluation tab is active, and then click the Launch button.
  • Fill out the evaluation and then click submit. Contact hours will then be applied to your transcript. You can view your updated transcript by clicking on the "View Transcript" button.
