DOAC Therapy for VTE Management

This 1-hour seminar will provide clinical guidance on direct oral anticoagulants, which provide a treatment alternative to warfarin for select patients. Topics include indications, risks and benefits, drug selection and dosing. The didactic component will run until 1:00 pm, followed by case vignettes and a question and answer session from 1:00 - 1:15 pm.

This seminar is open to Dartmouth-Hitchcock employees and affiliates only.

Participants may attend in person or via live stream.

This event is open to D-H employees and affiliates only.

There is no charge to attend. Lunch will be provided, please note if you would like lunch on your registration form. Participants may attend in person or via live stream. The live stream link will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.

Learning Outcome(s)

At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to apply new knowledge to enhance clinical practice in the care of patients being considered for DOAC drugs including indications, risks and benefits, drug selection and dosing.

Accreditation

Dartmouth-Hitchcock is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Receiving Credit

The follow steps must be completed in order to receive credit for this event:

  • Register for the event online
  • Attend the event or session(s). A credit tracking sheet will be provided.
  • Complete the online evaluation - Must be submitted within 30 days after the activity

    Accessing the Online Evaluation (The evaluation is available the day after the event)

  • Log onto https://ce.dartmouth-hitchcock.org/login.aspx
  • Click on the My Activities link in the left side menu. Then click on the name of the activity you attended.
  • Click on the Resume button.
  • Click the Continue button until the Evaluation tab is active, and then click the Launch button.
  • Fill out the evaluation and then click submit. Credits will then be applied to your transcript. You can view your updated transcript by clicking on the "View Transcript" button.
