Nursing Grand Rounds – Political Advocacy for Change: Nursing and Family Advocacy on the Nursing Shortage in New Hampshire

During this program, one nurse and two family advocates who were members of the “Commission to Study the Shortage of Nurses and Other Skilled Health Care Workers for Home Health Care Services and Post-Acute Care Services” will discuss a recent partnership. They will explore the legislative process, describe how advocacy for children in need of nursing services led to one small but significant change, show the impact nursing can have in advocating for policy, discuss why your voice matters, and how to become more involved in political advocacy.

Description

At the conclusion of the program, learners should be able to discuss how to partner with patients and families in advocating for legislation.
