Medical Improv: An Effective Strategy for Developing Critical Interpersonal Skills

Welcome to the emerging world of Medical Improv, an experiential teaching process that can support our learning. Join us as we delve into the core principles of Medical Improv and their implications in developing and promoting critical interpersonal skills. Learn how interpersonal skills are linked to outcomes involving patient safety, patient experience, and workforce health. This learning activity is designed to be a joyful experience that will not only be fun, but will support and promote critical professional development for nurses from diverse clinical backgrounds. All DH nurses are welcome – and encouraged - to attend.

Registration is online and by credit card only. Register Now

The registration fees are as follows:

  • D-H employees and affiliates: No Charge (registration required for planning purposes)
  • NEAH Hospital Employees: $15
  • Others: $25

Preregistration and payment required. The registration deadline is 10 days prior to the activity date. There will be no refunds after that date. Learning Outcome(s)

At the conclusion of this learning activity, the participant will be able to demonstrate increased ability to engage in and promote respectful and effective interpersonal interactions across the spectrum of interprofessional and therapeutic relationships using the core principles of medical improv.

Accreditation

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nursing Continuing Education Council is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This educational activity carries 4.25 contact hours.

Receiving Contact Hours

The follow steps must be completed in order to receive contact hours for this event:

  • Register for the event online
  • Attend the event or session(s). A contact hours tracking sheet will be provided.
  • Complete the online evaluation - Must be submitted within 30 days after the activity

    Accessing the Online Evaluation (The evaluation is available the day after the event)

  • Log onto https://ce.dartmouth-hitchcock.org/login.aspx
  • Click on the My Activities link in the left side menu. Then click on the name of the activity you attended.
  • Click on the Resume button.
  • Click the Continue button until the Evaluation tab is active, and then click the Launch button.
  • Fill out the evaluation and then click submit. Contact hours will then be applied to your transcript. You can view your updated transcript by clicking on the "View Transcript" button.

Parking - In order to accommodate and best serve our patients’ parking needs, we request that all weekday conference and meeting attendees park in Lot 9 and use the Lot 9 shuttle service. Shuttles run approximately every 20 minutes - please allow enough time to accommodate this. For weekend meetings and conferences, onsite parking is permitted. View directions & map to Lot 9.
