Stroke Education Day: Controversies in Stroke Care

Join us for our Fourth Annual Dartmouth-Hitchcock Stroke Education Day: Controversies in Stroke Care. This year, our conference will highlight diversities in practical theories of stroke care. The conference will provide didactic and hands-on experiences for today’s clinical nurses, rehabilitation specialists and EMS provider attendees.

Keynote Speaker: Demetrius K. Lopes, M.D. Section Chief of Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois will discuss:

“The Value and Method of Preparing for the Arrival of the Acute Stroke Patient in 2018”

Dr. Lopes is highly skilled in neuroendovascular therapy and specializes in the revascularization of the brain for cerebral ischemia, stroke and the conditions leading up to stroke as well as treatment of brain aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations.

Registration is online and by credit card only. 

The registration fees are as follows:

  • Dartmouth-Hitchcock Employees and Affiliates: No Charge
  • NEAH Hospital Employees: $40
  • Others: $80

Preregistration and payment required. The registration deadline is 10 days prior to the activity date. There will be no refunds after that date. A $10 administrative fee for a registration fee of under $50, and a $25 administrative fee for a registration of $50 and over, will be retained on all refunds requested before the registration deadline. Learning Outcome(s)

At the conclusion of this learning activity, the participant will be able to discuss at least two controversies in current stroke care.

Accreditation

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nursing Continuing Education Council is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This educational activity carries 6.75 contact hours.

Receiving Contact Hours

The follow steps must be completed in order to receive contact hours for this event:

  • Register for the event online
  • Attend the event or session(s). A contact hours tracking sheet will be provided.
  • Complete the online evaluation - Must be submitted within 30 days after the activity

  • Log onto https://ce.dartmouth-hitchcock.org/login.aspx
  • Click on the My Activities link in the left side menu. Then click on the name of the activity you attended.
  • Click on the Resume button.
  • Click the Continue button until the Evaluation tab is active, and then click the Launch button.
  • Fill out the evaluation and then click submit. Contact hours will then be applied to your transcript. You can view your updated transcript by clicking on the "View Transcript" button.
