Nursing Grand Rounds - Collaboration Between the Pain Management Clinic and the Matthews-Fuller Health Sciences Library (MFHSL) at DHMC: A Model to Improve patient Access to Educational Resources

The consumer health collection and librarians at the Matthews-Fuller Health Sciences Library (MFHSL) are an under-utilized resource at DHMC. The circulation rate is “low” for the collection of over 1000 books in the consumer library. In addition, patients/family members seeking trust-worthy medical information rarely utilize the professional library staff. This presentation will focus on how the D-H Pain Clinic collaborated with the Library staff to improve patient education resources and how this example of collaboration can be extended into other clinical specialty areas, without adding expenses.
