Cystic Fibrosis: Mental Health Challenges of Living with this Chronic Condition

This is a half-day program discussing the mental health needs of those affected by Cystic Fibrosis. It will provide background about cystic fibrosis and the related developmental and psychosocial turning points. The program is based on the guidelines and recommendations from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for the screening, assessment and treatment of anxiety and/or depression. Target audience for this program includes mental health therapists, social workers, school nurses and counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists and other healthcare or community professionals involved in the care of patients with cystic fibrosis.

Registration is online and by credit card only. 

The registration fees are as follows:

  • Dartmouth-Hitchcock Employees and Member Organizations: No Charge (Advance registration required for planning purposes. Box lunch not provided for member organization attendees)
  • Others: $25 per person (includes breakfast and lunch)

Preregistration and payment required. The registration deadline is 10 days prior to the activity date. There will be no refunds after that date. Learning Outcome(s)

At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to provide appropriate evidence based care to individuals with Cystic Fibrosis including assessing patients for depression and anxiety and providing or referring for treatment.

Receiving Credit

The follow steps must be completed in order to receive credit for this event:

  • Register for the event online
  • Attend the event or session(s). A credit tracking sheet will be provided.
  • Complete the online evaluation - Must be submitted within 30 days after the activity

  • Log onto https://ce.dartmouth-hitchcock.org/login.aspx
  • Click on the My Activities link in the left side menu. Then click on the name of the activity you attended.
  • Click on the Resume button.
  • Click the Continue button until the Evaluation tab is active, and then click the Launch button.
  • Fill out the evaluation and then click submit. Credits will then be applied to your transcript. You can view your updated transcript by clicking on the "View Transcript" button.
