Special Nursing Grand Rounds - Implementation of Simulation Based Education Strategies in Onboarding New Graduate Nurses

This presentation provides an opportunity to explore how exposing new graduate nurses to scenario-driven, problem based learning can prepare them to manage patients in a safe and competent manner, help to recruit and to retain these individuals, and improve overall quality outcomes in our organizations and for our patients.

Learning Outcome

At the end of this learning event, participants will be able to identify how simulation based learning strategies can be integrated into new graduate nurse onboarding programs in order to promote clinical reasoning, support the socialization of those new to practice, and to potentially improve quality and safety outcomes for patients within the organization.
