DH Ambulatory Nursing Presents
Professional Telehealth Nursing:
More than a Question, Click, and Conclusion

Ambulatory care nurses are managing more virtual patient contacts through telehealth technology than ever before. The desire for easy access to healthcare professionals, efficient problem solving, and lower costs has been steadily rising for decades. Then the emergence of the pandemic led to unprecedented call volumes. This presentation emphasizes the importance of managing symptom-based calls safely, effectively and efficiently while recognizing -- although the interaction is not in-person - it remains professional nursing care. When nurses succumb to the pressure of expediting the management of a symptom-based encounter, there can be a loss of patient satisfaction, confidence and trust.....and even a loss of life.
