Medicine Grand Rounds - Translational Ultra-High Dose Rate (FLASH) Radiation Therapy

Participants in Medicine Grand Rounds will be able to identify the most current treatment guidelines, innovations, and standards of practice, and apply them to improve the care of individual patients, promote health and wellness in the population, and achieve clinical quality and safety goals. These educational activities are grounded in principles of health equity, evidence based medicine, inter-professional teamwork, patient-centered care, and respect for human dignity.

Learning Outcome

Participants will be able to discuss the dynamics of ultra-high dose rate radiation therapy in animal studies and the potential of FLASH treatment in clinical settings.

    About our presenter: 
    Dr. Rongxiao Zhang completed his PhD in physics from Dartmouth College, followed by the Harvard Medical Physics Residency Program where he received training in all aspects of radiation therapy, including proton therapy.  He joined the faculty as a clinical physicist II at Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health and focuses on the MRI-guided radiation therapy and medical physics residency program.
